The Fear of All Sums - Ten Million Dice To Weigh

Padraig Timoney

  • The Fear of All Sums - Ten Million Dice To Weigh

Padraig Timoney's exhibition includes paintings, photographs, sculptures and found objects, all of which challenge the ways in which we perceive reality and force us to question the familiarity of our everyday lives. The work is an eclectic mix of traditional and unorthodox materials, combining to create an exhibition that is wholly contemporary, and at times bizarre.

The title is made up of two puns which relate to significant issues of global political concern. The Film The Sum Of All Fears is a 2002 political thriller which reflects the US fear of terrorist attack on America, following 9/11 and Ten Million Ways to Die is a guide book for gamers, showing how to increase the violence in video games. The phrase has also entered the vocabulary of urban music, featuring in songs by Fat Joe and West Side Connection.
