The Void Youth Forum will be a group made up of young people aged between 14 – 17 years with an interest in visual art.

Our aim is to create a youth-led working group, supported by Void,  where participants come together regularly (e.g. once a month) to get involved in the life of the gallery, gain valuable experience and give a fresh perspective on our exhibitions and learning programmes.

Members of the youth forum will set out the terms of engagement, and act as co-authors with Void at every step of the process. Some of the ways that we envisage the youth forum will operate include the following types of activity:

  • Meet professional artists, curators and other creative professionals,
  • Programme events for young peers,
  • Become part of a close-knit collective, explore their own creativity and work with others to be creative,
  • Work closely with Void staff, experience life in a leading contemporary art gallery,
  • Explore ways of representing their perspective on Void’s programme,
  • Utililse the potential for work experience, skills and learning development.

Everyone is welcome to get involved. We aim to have a broad spectrum if young people represented from all communities and abilities.  The only requirement is an interest in visual art and creativity,  a desire to get involved in something new and a genuine commitment to take part.
